Consumer & Retail Intelligence Intern | Full-Time

Role purpose

To conduct structured consumer, retailer, competitor and market research that helps Valley Bazaar make better decisions about products, pricing, positioning, distribution, customer retention and digital marketing.

The business problem

How can Valley Bazaar increase repeat purchases and profitable retail sales of Kashmiri food products by better understanding consumers, retailers, competitors and purchase behaviour?

Key responsibilities

  • Research consumer purchase behaviour, motivations, trust factors, objections and repeat-purchase drivers.
  • Interview and survey retailers to understand product movement, margins, retailer preferences, objections and reorder behaviour.
  • Map relevant competitors across pricing, packaging, claims, assortment, distribution, promotions and digital presence.
  • Build a structured database of research findings and sources.
  • Design and administer surveys/interviews using ethical, non-deceptive methods.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using Google Sheets/Excel or equivalent tools.
  • Identify patterns, customer segments and commercially relevant opportunities.
  • Translate research into practical recommendations for Valley Bazaar.
  • Work with the Digital Growth and Design interns when research findings should influence campaigns or creatives.
  • Present interim findings and a final recommendation to the founder/mentor.

Digital Growth & Content Intern | Full-Time

Role purpose

Help Valley Bazaar build a disciplined digital growth engine across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, website/SEO and selected performance-marketing experiments by turning audience insight into content, content into engagement/leads, and data into better decisions.

Core mission

Build a repeatable 90-day digital growth system that increases qualified attention, audience trust, enquiries and measurable commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Audit Valley Bazaar’s current digital presence and benchmark relevant competitors.
  • Build a target-audience and content-pillar framework.
  • Develop weekly and monthly content strategy and calendars.
  • Research high-potential Reel, Story, educational, product, founder-led and customer-led content ideas.
  • Write/brief captions, hooks, CTAs, scripts and creative concepts.
  • Coordinate with the Graphic Design Intern and other team members.
  • Recommend website/SEO content opportunities and basic on-page improvements.
  • Track reach, engagement, saves, shares, profile visits, website visits, WhatsApp enquiries, leads and campaign results.
  • Design and evaluate controlled content experiments and A/B tests where practical.
  • Research Meta/performance-marketing opportunities and recommend budgets, audiences, objectives and creative tests; execution of paid ads requires founder approval.
  • Maintain a performance dashboard and explain what worked, what did not and why.
  • Present weekly learnings and a final 90-day growth strategy.

Visual Brand & Creative Design Intern | Full-Time

Role purpose

Create clear, attractive and brand-consistent visual communication for Valley Bazaar across social media, digital campaigns, WhatsApp, website, retail promotions, product launches and selected offline materials.

Core mission

Turn marketing objectives and content briefs into visual assets that capture attention, communicate value quickly, strengthen brand memory and encourage the intended action.

Responsibilities

  • Create Instagram posts, carousels, Stories, Reel covers and social-media campaign assets.
  • Design promotional creatives, product advertisements, offers, launches and educational graphics.
  • Create WhatsApp-status and retailer-facing creatives.
  • Develop website banners and selected landing-page visual assets.
  • Create multiple creative variations for testing different hooks, layouts and CTAs.
  • Work from briefs supplied by the Digital Growth Intern and improve the brief when visual reasoning suggests a better approach.
  • Maintain Valley Bazaar’s visual identity across typography, spacing, colours, imagery, product presentation and logo use.
  • Build reusable Canva/Figma/Adobe templates where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with content, research, sales and founder to understand the purpose behind each creative.
  • Organise source files and maintain clean naming/version control.
  • Support product launches and seasonal campaigns.
  • Review published creative performance with the Digital Growth Intern and incorporate learnings into future work.
